Kia ora, Porirua Neighbourly. The councl had put up signs reminding people cars are no longer allowed on Titahi Bay beach under the recently updated Porirua City Council Transport Bylaw.
There will be regular patrols by parking wardens and security contractors to enforce the bylaw. You can still drive on to the beach to launch a boat, and you can park your vehicle and trailer above the high tide line following launch.
If you own a boatshed, you can drive on to the beach to load or unload your things, but your car must then be parked on the road.
Tell us what you think of the new by-laws?

Porirua City Council is threatening to confiscate recycling bins from people who repeatedly put rubbish in them, as part of a crackdown on recycling contamination.
The council has launched a team of “recycling ambassadors” who will go around checking the contents of recycling bins before they are collected.
Stuff understands that the material being put out includes raw meat and used nappies.
The number of contaminated items in the recycling has been rising in several areas throughout the city, costing between $6000 and $8000 a month to remove.
Do you think it is fair to confiscate recycling bins?

"I was taken to SPCA by a kind person who noticed I had an injury needing treatment. I've been putting on weight and getting healthy, and am now ready to go home!
I'm a handsome, goofy, gentle giant who is loving and eager to please. I've been learning to walk nicely on a lead while at SPCA and am very responsive to treats and human affection. While I enjoy a walk, I'm also happy just to have a cuddle, and Netflix and chill.
I've made a few canine girlfriends at the centre, and mix best with larger girls who are happy to play and don't mind some barking. I am not suitable for a home with cats or small animals at this stage. I would be happy to live with teenage kids."
