Female Papillon/Chihuahua available for adoption

Karyn from Blenheim

Summer is a drop dead gorgeous 5 year old female Chihuahua x Papillon who is a tiny 2.2kg. She is bright, curious, playful, loves her toys, and gets on well with other small dogs. Her favourite things are belly rubs, rides in the car, and morning cuddles on the bed.

Summer is well behaved and temperamentally sound, but has spent time in foster care in order to rehabilitate her fear of being touched. Summer needs lots of physical contact and cuddles from someone with the time to give them to her. You will need to be patient and understand that bonding with her may take a bit of time. Full support will be provided by NZCR. Summer is in excellent health and is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea'd/wormed, registered, and has had a recent dental.

We are looking for a very special home for Summer, where the fantastic progress her foster carer has made will be continued with. Please apply if you are that special person who:
- has a quiet, low conflict home environment with no children.
- has another calm and well-adjusted dog (preferably small breed).
- is home most of the day and able to spend quality time with her, giving her lots of physical contact.
- will let her sleep on the bed at night (so she can get her morning cuddle)
- has no cats (as they terrify her), although a kitten could be introduced to the home once she is settled in.
- has fencing that is in full contact with the ground with no gaps or holes (as she can dig her way out).

If this sounds like you, please apply as per the process at nzchihuahuarescue.co.nz.... Please note comments and messages on this site will NOT be responded to (as I am not the NZCR adoption co-ordinator) so please submit an application form as requested. Summer's adoption fee is $400.

Price: $400

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
