Any pool, fixed or portable, deeper than 400mm is now subject to safety provisions under the Building Act, meaning there a quite a few rules you probably aren't even aware of.
For example, do you have a 1.2-metre fixed childproof fence with a self-closing gate opening outwards?

I was carjacked tonight in broad daylight on my father's property by some local trash (I am guessing...) but my wife and children are safe. I tried to fight this critter off but he got away and fortunately was cornered by Police within an hour. My wife emigrated from South Africa to get away from this crap and now it is happening right here in pretty little Timaru. Please be very careful with you property and do not leave unlocked or unattended!! There are some evil people out there!

Honesty stalls in rural NZ may be the "Kiwi way", but thieves are making it difficult to survive.
One grower-family was targeted with a spate of $100 per day thefts.
But out-of-pocket growers have pledged to continue; keeping the "Kiwi tradition" alive, in spite of thieves.
