Thrifty Place

Kate Neighbourly Lead from Raumati Beach

Thrifty Place second hand shop is open 🎉 Come and visit us and grab a bargain. We sell quality used second hand items and clothing. All adults clothing is $3 per item and children's $1 per item (unless marked). We also sell books, toys, games and puzzles. Our hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 am to 4 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 12.30 pm. We are located at 10 Weka Road, Raumati Beach. Our yellow flags are out when we are open. Donations of clothing and household items are greatly appreciated.

Our funds go directly to the Kapiti Uniting Parish. We have two churches, Raumati and Waikanae. Funds raised help us provide community services such as the hiring of our halls and meeting rooms to over 15 community groups, running three playgroups each week and supporting the Kapiti Counselling Service which is located on our premises. Our church in Raumati is a Community Emergency Hub and last year we were able to install an AED on the outside of our building. The Raumati Village Community Garden is also on our grounds in Raumati. Funds raised also help us maintain our buildings, and employ three part-time staff, an administrator, community worker and playgroup co-ordinator. Thrifty Place is run by volunteers.

Quote for the Day

Mike from Paraparaumu

Interviewer:
"Do you think that the British class system has finally ended?"
Upper-middle class Romance author, Dame Barbara Cartland:
"Well, of course it has; otherwise I would't be sitting here, talking to someone like you!"

Happy New Year [hopefully!]
Mike
