Our Libraries

Annette from Waikanae

Like others I was concerned about overdue fees for my library books.
I had trouble finding any info about this.
However I found the following, very well hidden info, on the Spydus site so I thought I'd share it.
Stay safe everyone. See you on the other side.

Kāpiti Coast District Libraries are closed until further notice.
We know that this will be hard for our customers, but we want to be sure that we are all safe.

Please keep library items at home until we let you know otherwise. Book return slots will be closed.

All loans will be extended by 6 weeks as of 23 March 2020. If we are closed for longer than 6 weeks, we will extend loans again. There will be no fines for that period.

We encourage you to use our Axis360 and PressReader apps. Use your library card and password to log in (if you have no password you will be able to create one.

We will be working on ways to keep library resources available, but at the moment we don’t know what that will look like.

We will be keeping our Facebook page and website updated as we receive new information.

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.

🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
