Clear leaves away from stormwater drains before heavy rain
Heavy rain and blocked stormwater drains = surface flooding đ§đ
So moving into autumn which typically brings heavy rain, alongside leaves falling and blocking drains, means our crews will be busy responding to flooding events - much like they were at the end of March.
You can help to reduce the amount of flooding by giving the drains in your street or on your property a sweep every now and then.
Easter weekend is looking a bit wet, so while youâre at home during this lockdown, why not get out and clear leaves and rubbish from on and around stormwater sumps?
