New World Fill a bag.. are they actually donating??

Rosie from Otaki District

"New World will be donating $250,000 to help support local foodbanks and City Missions across Aotearoa!
You can get involved by donating foodbank friendly products in store and we'll deliver your donation to a local foodbank or City Mission to help aid families in need."

Yes laudable to donate $250.000, though considering their profits that's a miserly amount. Per store might come close to paying it forward!!
But asking us the public to buy $20 worth of food from their store, which by my reckoning $20 × 20.000 = $400.000, will more than recoup their donation!!! And this campaign will surely bring in more than that.
So ..I shall be donating my $20 directly to my food bank or buying $20 directly from local growers who are struggling.
Nice one New World Management and shareholders sleep soundly

Time for a clear-out?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Delve back into that garage or wardrobe! It's time to sell your gently-loved goods at The Neighbourly Winter (online!) Garage Sale

On Saturday 6th July, members will be online checking out the goods on offer so it's a great time to get rid of your winter clutter.

Maybe it's time to realise that you're never going to use that snowboard or ski jacket, and that you really do have one too many heaters. Whatever it is, take a picture and put it on Neighbourly for locals to see.

Injured Pukeko

Heather from Waikanae Beach

A pukeko is on our deck and has an injured foot. It is a regular visitor to our garden but is not looking very happy today at all. We would not be able to capture it to get it to a vet, so I'm looking for suggestions as to how I can help this poor thing. I've offered it bread, and it has eaten some, and a few sultanas, mainly because I didn't know what to give it. It just stands still. I hate to think it is in pain. Any advice?
