Kia ora neighbours,

L'Arche Kāpiti (off Tongariro Street, Paraparaumu) is having its second annual Open Day on Sunday 15 September from 12-2 rain or shine. Come for free sausages (courtesy of Waikane Butchery) and complimentary cakes and drinks. Thanks to Good Bitches Baking, New World and Gifted Kai for providing some baking and supplies.

Bring the family as there will be face painting and games as well. Parking available. Come see what our intentional community is like, where people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
