"It's often as hard to get one of these sitting down as it is to get one in flight. Welcome swallow/warou (Hirundo neoxena). The pink background is caused by the colourful pink aquatic weeds on the fresh water pond at Pauatahanui. Usually hawking in a circuit over the pond, one of the swallows rested briefly to have a good stretch on a stick poking out of the water."
