Food Recall: Kinder Surprise Maxi Eggs, Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut, Kinder Happy Moments Ballotin and Kinder Maxi Mix with plush toy
This Kinder recall just got bigger.
Ferrero Australia Pty Ltd is expanding their recall to include all batches and sizes of specific Kinder brand chocolates manufactured in Arlon, Belgium due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Only Kinder brand products made in Belgium are affected by this recall. Affected products should not be consumed. Toys within the affected products should be discarded as they may be in contact with the affected chocolate. There have been cases of illnesses reportedly linked to Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs, manufactured by Ferrero International S.A. in Belgium. There have been no confirmed cases in New Zealand, however if you have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.
Note: Only Kinder brand products from Belgium are affected. All other Kinder products (including Kinder Surprise 20g eggs made in Italy), sold in New Zealand are not affected by this recall.

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls
ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.
🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.
Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.
If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
