Coastal erosion information on your LIM
Homeowners on the Kāpiti Coast may soon have coastal erosion information included on Land Information Memorandums (LIMs), a prospect which split the community and ended up in the High Court more than a decade ago.
A report commissioned by the Kāpiti Coast District Council to better understand coastal hazards in the face of climate change is adding fuel to the already fiery issue of mapping at-risk areas as part of Takutai Kāpiti, its coastal adaptation programme.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
