A tougher level 1 ...what are your thoughts?

Michelle from Waikanae Beach

A couple of weeks ago I flew to the south island and back, after being caught in traffic and running to board the plane I suddenly realised that I hadn't put my mask on, then realised that only 1 older person on the plane wore a mask ...this was before the mandatory mask use on planes and tighter rules were mandated.
However on my return trip I felt that if I was to wear a mask people would judge me (thinking I was sick and shouldn't be on the plane) and the chances of getting covid was virtually zero, so I didn't ...but as proven in the past , theres always that chance. I am pleased that it is now mandentory as I do think others may have thought the same.
Now I have noticed that no one uses the covid tracing app when going into the local shopping mall...perhaps living in Kapiti it is easy to assume we are safe ...I understand there are some shops in Auckland that won't let you in unless you sign in or use the app ...maybe this is a good thing, or maybe it should be mandated too, to prevent further lockdowns?
Interested to know your thoughts ...no conspiracy theories please, thanks

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? 🛻🚨🚓

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
