Graham’s solo exhibition Rural Recollections opened in March, and closed just a week later due to Covid19. The opening of ‘Rural Recollections – Revisited’ is an opportunity to join the artist in celebrating the re-opening of the exhibition, which includes several new works completed during lockdown.
You are invited to join us at 5.30pm on Saturday the 24th of October for a BBQ and complimentary drinks to celebrate the occasion. There will be an opportunity to chat to the artist and of course enjoy some great art.
There is no charge and no need to book – everyone is welcome. See you there!
Graham’s paintings depict his life-long love of farming and the unique landscape that New Zealand offers. His works are a reminiscence of rural life and moments in time that make up the rich tapestry of our farming communities and their significant place in our country’s history.

If you haven’t yet seen it, be sure to drop in to the Feilding and Districts Art Society to see the latest exhibition by Esther Nitschke MBE and her talented family.
The final day of the exhibition is Friday the 23rd of October.
Esther Nitschke MBE
Esther has been weaving for over 57 years and one of her very first exhibitions was at the Feilding Art Centre. Esther will be exhibiting her weaving and felting work and is thrilled to share this exhibition, back at the Feilding Art Centre, with her extremely talented family.
Sandra Hall
Sandra is an internationally recognised fibre artist in her own right. Sandra ran a successful smocking business for nearly 30 years but in 2010 whilst preparing for an exhibition on Waiheke Island she felt the need to change it up and add textile art to the exhibition. Sandra’s contemporary work incorporates copper, rusted old table cloths and doilies, pianola rolls, handmade silk paper, and discarded items juxtaposed against delicate needle craft. The result is stunning.
Neville Nitschke
Neville is based in Marton and has had an interesting variety of jobs over the years but it was working in tree felling that led to his interest in furniture making. Neville allows the shape and grain of the timber to dictate what final object will be. All of the pieces in the exhibition have been milled by Neville himself.
Stephanie Hall
Esther taught her granddaughter Stephanie to weave and she now weaves on a loom made by her late grandfather Bruce Nitschke. Stephanie say’s “Since starting knitting and weaving there is rarely a day that goes by that I don’t pick up the needles or shuttle and I find the planning and calculations speak to my analytical brain and the motion and creation is meditative”.
Michael Wells
Michael has been a member of the Kimbolton Fire Service for 20 years. He started experimenting with airbrush art whilst he had a young family but stepped away from it as life became busy. Recently has been honing his skills and enjoying creating again as he prepares for the upcoming exhibition.
Jackson Wells
10 year old Jackson brings us a photographic masterpiece - a self portrait he captured whilst riding his motorbike.

Bevis, a resident at Ryman’s Anthony Wilding Village, recently received a gentleman’s makeover. The day began at the barbershop where Bevis and his barber Kohl shared plenty of laughs. Next up, a personal stylist helped Bevis select clothes he looked and felt great in. Being pampered isn’t the norm for Bevis but based on his smile, we’re confident he loved every minute.

The launch last week went even better than we'd hoped. I'm over the moon.
I thought I'd drop by to let you know this week's episode, Location, Location, Location, is out now.
Just like the first one, it's packed with tips, advice and anecdotes from experts and home owners on every aspect of buying your first home. It also comes with a chance to win a $500 Resene prize pack.
In episode 2, we talk to a first time buyer who moved from one end of the country to the other for a chance to get on the ladder, hear about apartments as a viable first home option and an expert gives us some tips on how to choose the right lawyer.
We all know buying a home is one of the toughest, most daunting things we might ever do as adults, so it doesn't hurt to get some expert advice and support. That's what we wanted to give you with First Rung.
Give episode 2 a listen and let us know what you think - and I hope you're all in to win that crackin' prize pack!
