Heirloom Tomatoes and other Veggies Waikanae and Otaki Markets this Weekend
Finally a fine weekend coming up!
Our tomatoes are loving the warmer weather and now is the ideal time to get them into the ground. Looking forward to colourful salads? Try a mixture of the following: Black Cherry, Chocolate Sprinkles, Green Grape, White Cherry with a choice of reds; Sweet 100, Sweet Million or Rosella.
Or slice up some juicy larger toms such as Oxheart, Brandywine, Mortgage Lifter, Black Krim (currently the darling of the plant stores) or Aunt Ruby's German Green. Not only do they taste like real tomatoes should, some of them have interesting histories as well.
In addition, we will have Capsicum, Chilli, Zucchini, Pumpkin, Scallopini, a limited supply of Kumara, plus Basil, Chives and Mint. Beans available again next week.
Please note, our last weekend before Christmas will be 17/18 Dec.
Share your favourite main crop potato recipe and win a copy of our mag!
