EVENING ART CLASSES IN MAY.
I’m running evening classes, 7pm-9pm, from my Waikanae studio on every Monday in May – a block of five in total, all materials and refreshments provided, $250 for the course. The aim is to create a collage work in the last weeks, using a mix of hand painted and printed papers along with magazine cut-outs. The subject matter will be the written form. Great patterns can be generated from playing around with text so that it’s unreadable and that’s called asemic art. I’ll be teaching a range of art making techniques – trace monoprinting, Gelli-plate printing, stencilling and calligraphic mark making among others. Materials for you to use include GOLDEN’s OPEN Acrylics and High Flow, Yupo , Zeta and tissue paper, a range of inks, calligraphy pens, quills and a wide range of drawing materials. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
