EVENING ART CLASSES IN MAY.
I’m running evening classes, 7pm-9pm, from my Waikanae studio on every Monday in May – a block of five in total, all materials and refreshments provided, $250 for the course. The aim is to create a collage work in the last weeks, using a mix of hand painted and printed papers along with magazine cut-outs. The subject matter will be the written form. Great patterns can be generated from playing around with text so that it’s unreadable and that’s called asemic art. I’ll be teaching a range of art making techniques – trace monoprinting, Gelli-plate printing, stencilling and calligraphic mark making among others. Materials for you to use include GOLDEN’s OPEN Acrylics and High Flow, Yupo , Zeta and tissue paper, a range of inks, calligraphy pens, quills and a wide range of drawing materials. The group size will be limited to 6 people. No previous art experience is necessary! I have two places left – Who’s having them? Details on my website. www.stokes.net.nz...
