“I would like to nominate and THANK our great neighbour's living at Viv Davie Martin Drive for their creativity and huge effort during lock down. They lifted all our spirits with their daily Teddy bear reenactment on how to keep busy. Each day people came to see what Teddy bear was up to. With keen interest kids in our neighbourhood even gave Teddy a proper name...meet Vincent LOL! It's through times like this that such acts of goodness should be acknowledged and the memories they hold forever treasured. All those interested in the Waikanae River are invited.
The Friends, in addition to running the nursery off Nimmo Avenue East, inform GWRC of the communities views and needs regarding the river.
Items on the agenda include:
The work done by the Friends over the past year;
A presentation from GWRC on flood protection work that has been carried out and upcoming projects;
A presentation from Russell Bell titled ‘The Amazing Waikanae River’.
A light supper will be provided.
