I think as a rate payer we deserve it bit more descentcy and respect to others in full view.... Don't you?

Shall I Make A Submission on the Long Term Plan?

Jacinta from Levin

I'm pondering on whether to make a submission on the LTP however I feel so uninspired by the options presented to me. I'm being asked to give an opinion on some things I know nothing about. Here is what I really want to have some say about:

I'm pondering on whether to make a submission on the LTP however I feel so uninspired by the options presented to me. I'm being asked to give an opinion on some things I know nothing about. Here is what I really want to have some say about:
I'm looking for leaders who are unafraid to say that a long-term plan created by previous councillors is no longer relevant in a world where the environment is being destroyed, where the rate of change has sped up to an alarming degree necessitating the need for communities to respond quicker than current planning spans allow for and where innovative, creative thinking that includes love, compassion and an attitude of 'how does everyone benefit from this' informs leadership decisions. Come on Bernie, Jo, Victoria, Sam and you others...you can do this, you can say....' the way we do things has to change'. Be bold, be brave...we're all counting on you. Scrap the LTP and start again.

The cost of a seawall on the Kāpiti Coast has more than doubled over the past five years, with the Kāpiti Coast District Council planning to head back to the community to review its options.
The current seawall at Paekākāriki was built in the 1970s, to last 25 years. Now 38-years-old, the wall failed in a 2016 storm surge and again during Cyclone Gita in 2018.
Building a permanent, concrete wall was originally costed at $10.9 million in 2016, but now is expected to cost $27 million, the consultation document for the council’s Long Term Plan has revealed.
Can the council afford it?

Come along and have a look at my little gym/studio situated at 4 Koromiko Rd, Waikanae. This is where I take One on One Personal Training, small circuit classes and Yin Yoga. Right at this moment there are a few spaces available in my timetable that need filling. Don't dilly dally as this doesn't happen very often.

Why not have a look on my website? www.carolinemcdonaldpt.com.... I am looking forward to meeting you.
