The Queen will always hold a special place in our district’s history having flown in and out of Kapiti Coast Airport with the late HRH the Duke of Edinburgh in January 1954.

Over the coming days, the Government will announce how, as a country, we will mark her death and remember her service as our Head of State. Once that is confirmed we will be able to share what that could mean for our district. We will let you know when condolence books are available in our libraries and service centres for you to write in, and where you can leave flowers.

Are you by any chance wanting to waste four hours of your time in a futile endeavour to organise a skip bin delivered to your door? Are you a masochist who wants to indulge in four hours of self torture? Look no further then, go straight to Envirowaste website and see what a world class un-user friendly web site looks like. Whatever you do, don't call in to their office in Aotaki St in Otaki, because (nice as the staff were) they can only direct you to the website. Now this isn't only my experience, after trying without success to organise a bin, I explained my difficulty to a client, he is undoubtedly not unintelligent. He gave up in frustration also. This isn't a case of buyer beware, because they won't let you buy. Try Kapiti skips.

Our 9 mth old kitten had multiple bouts of on/off uncontrollable diarrhea over the course of the last couple of weeks with very, very bad smelling wind. Took her to vets (twice -$$$) and nothing showed up except when we stopped her night feed of Oscar wet food and just left her on biscuits it all cleared up. Thinking this was a bit odd I googled this brand and found an article from the UK (www.dailymail.co.uk...) where the same product - but called Felix instead - had affected thousands of peoples pets. Have rung Purina and given them batch details etc from the sachet I had left but they weren't overly concerned.
Just wanted to let people know in case their cat/kitten was experiencing similar issues.
