Spike in van thefts in New Plymouth
On Tuesday night Dave Newman read about a van decorated with cartoon dogs being stolen a few streets away from his home. The next morning he woke up to find his work van was gone.
Now, police have issued a warning to van owners following a spate of thefts in the city.
Inspector Darren Russell said 11 vans had been stolen, with two other attempts, from New Plymouth in less than two months. Read more here

Tennis Club Open day
Rotokare Tennis Club is holding an open day today from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
The club is on Walsh Road which is off Omata Road just along from Francis Douglas.
If you are keen to come along for a hit and find out a bit more about playing tennis, either just for fun or competitively, then come along.
Everyone is welcome, any age - the club has members from 5 - 85yrs old.
