Our climate change responsibilities.
The ANZAC’s faced up to the crises of their times and we rightly commemorate their sacrifices. However, faced with global warming – the crisis of ours – most of us do nothing. Global warming is a crisis which makes the twentieth century conflicts look, with respect to their victims, trivial. Yet the individual sacrifices we need to make to avert it are not remotely comparable to the hardships the ANZACS endured. Taking the bus to work and eating less meat isn’t merely ’virtue signalling’ but a recognition that as citizens we have responsibilities as well as rights. Let us respect the soldiers who gave their lives by not taking for granted the freedoms they bequeathed us.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
