Its a matter of life and death
Currently over 1200 people die of bowel cancer each year in Aotearoa NZ. Over 350 are diagnosed with bowel cancer aged under 50 years old age (Bowel cancer NZ)These deaths can be prevented by early detection when bowel cancer is treatable. Currently the bowel screening age is from 60 in NZ .In Australia the bowel screening age is 50 to 74 years of age and recommended from 45 years old . To sign the petition to lower the bowel screening age to 45 and lower if someone has a family history of bowel cancer click the link below and potentially save someones butt.

Lunchtime Concert, Janey Mackenzie & Fiona McCabe, Wed 9th October
Janey MacKenzie will be presenting a concert at the Methodist Centre on Wednesday 9th October at 12.15pm. Janey well known in Wellington as a singer, teacher and pianist has relocated to New Plymouth. She will be accompanied by another Wellington Icon, Fiona McCabe, both as singer and also solo pianist.
Their programme will be a couple of Handel Arias, several gorgeous French chansons and piano solo and some classic show songs to finish.

We are looking for new members either have played or want to learn the bagpipes or drums. We have a learners group starting on Wednesday 16th October at Lynmouth Park pavilion at 7pm. Will look forward to seeing you there. Check out our FB page
