Forever homes needed for 2 kittens 🐱 🐱 and a mom cat 🐈

Nani from Waitara

I started fostering a pregnant stray cat since just b4 Christmas. She had 4 beautiful kittens and has proven to be the greatest mom still caring for them today. I’ve managed to find 2 forever homes for 2 of the kittens but still need to find forever homes for the other 2 and their mom. I’m appealing to you neighbourly viewers hoping there are at least 3 compassionate cat lovers amongst the several thousand + members who could offer these guys their forever homes 🏑
There are conditions as we don’t want to contribute to the alarming number of strays already roaming our region so who ever offers to open their homes and hearts will also need to open their wallets to pay for:
1. Neutering
2. Vaccinations
3 Continued Flea and worming treatment
* Sex unknown

A big ask but a necessity for responsible pet owners.

The 2 remaining kittens are almost four months old and ready to be rehoused. Because the mom was very protective they will need to be socialised properly as I could not bring them into our home with our existing 3 cats and dog. Nothing a couple of weeks forming a bond and developing trust won’t fix.
The mom must of had a home at some stage as she is adorable and affectionate once you earn her trust.
So you amazing 🀩 animal lovers if you can’t personally offer a home then please appeal to your friends or loved ones who might find their forever cat 🐈
You can reach me on 06 7547775.

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

πŸ›‘οΈ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature β€” and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
