Only one day left to sign the petition to lower the bowel screening age to 45 and lower if there is a family history of bowel cancer .Deadline just before midnight Monday December 5 .This petition is supported by Bowel Cancer NZ, The Cancer society, Green MP Dr Elizabeath Kerekere and Labour MP Gregg O'Oconner who recovered from stage 3 bowel cancer 20 years ago Over 1200 people die of bowel cancer each year in NZ including over 350 under 50 because delayed detection where as in Queensland my nephew got a colonostomy paid by the government at 42 as there was a family history of bowel cancer. Because of this Queensland which has a similar population to NZ has less Bowel cancer deaths per year compared to Aotearoa NZ
