Airport commercial manager Wayne Wooton confirmed said nothing would be coming in or out of New Plymouth due to the heavy fog and low visibility.

A total of six flights had been cancelled from departing and arriving into New Plymouth.

Metservice stated New Plymouth visibility is at 6.5 kilometres and humidity at 100 per cent. It is forecast to remain cloudy with drizzle at times for the rest of today and tomorrow clearing on Saturday. Read more

Are you a striking midwife? More than 1100 District Health Board-employed (DHB) midwives have voted to strike, becoming the latest group to take industrial action since the Labour administration came into power. To read more, click here.

Midwives would give notice from Wednesday of two-hour work stoppages every day on every shift over a two-week period, starting Thursday, November 22.

With nearly 500 signing the online petition, and from what I can gather more than twice that signing the paper copy, we have a strong case to take to Liardet Street in getting them to ensure that the mural retains its place.
