Slavko, The Veggie Man.
Slavko died last week! Really sad! I don't know if people realise that he donated the impeccably engineered Pukekura Children's Playground fountain. One day he asked me,out of the blue at the Car Boot Sale "You have car? And a camera?"....I was wondering where he was going to go with this.... He explained that he had neither and he needed to go somewhere and do something. So I picked him up from his house. He directed me to go to Pukekura Park whereupon he proceeded to take me to the "Fontana!'. He asked me to take a few photos, including him and one of the children present. He explained that this fountain was his present to the people of New Plymouth. That he had researched it thoroughly, had it designed and made out of the best stainless steel possible so that it would last a long time. I remember the price was exorbitant! Somewhere in the many thousands. Apparently he wanted to show his family what he'd given to New Plymouth by photo. Somewhere with the fountain is the plaque with his name.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
