TRC RATES INCREASE YARROWS STADIUM $55M 2019/20 FOR 25 YEARS! PUBLIC MTG THURS.20/6/19 1.30PM NPDC CHAMBERS

Heather from Westown

EXTRA-ORDINARY PUBLIC MEETING BEING HELD AT NPDC CHAMBERS TO GIVE THE PUBLIC THE CHANCE TO HIGHLIGHT OUR CONCERNS RE: TRC'S INTENTION TO RAISE EXTRA RATES TO DEMOLISH THE YARROW STADIUM AND BUILD A NEW ONE AT A COST OF $55M MINIMUM, ADDING AT LEAST $76 PER YEAR TO RESIDENTAIL RATES FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 25 YEARS! AND POSSIBLY $400+ FOR SMALL BUSINESSES OVER THE SAME PERIOD!
THIS IS OUR ONLY CHANCE TO MAKE OUR CONCERNS KNOWN TO OUR COUNCILLORS! THE REGIONAL COUNCILLORS DON'T CARE HOW WE FEEL, ESP. IF WE ARE FINDING LIFE DIFFICULT FINANCIALLY! THEY HAVE SHOWN THIS - I SPOKE TO THE CHAIRPERSON LAST WEEK AND THEY HAVE MADE THEIR DECISSION THEY SAY...  WHAT ABOUT US, THOSE ON A LOW FIXED INCOME? WE CANNOT AFFORD IT.
I WILL BE THERE, SPEAKING FOR 5 MINS. REGARDS, HEATHER LEWIS.
