Taranaki Floral Art Designer of the Year 2024
This special floral art competitive event, open from 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday, 21/22 September promises to be an inspirational display with all manner of fabulous plant material and flowers designed to reflect titles such as Layers & Lines, Elevated to Cascade, Creative Curves, Low Lines, Flight 'n Fancy and Line Them Up. The Children's pre-done class - 'A Stick Creature' - has been a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to use their wildest imagination and create, with all manner of plant material a 'stick creature'. Entries have closed but come along to Stratford where Taranaki FLORAL ART designers will showcase their outstanding creativity alongside the children's creatures! Entry $5. Children free entry. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
