While we are a small charity we are involved with over a 1000 families in New Plymouth every year who have been referred to us form a N.P. social agencies.
We are still in urgent need in particular; of beds (single, queen or doubles), washing machines, table and chairs or drawers. These items are collected from you and given out free of charge to families in need. If you have any house hold items that are clean with no rips, tears or stains, are surplus to your requirements and you want to donate, please call. We also have our Shop in Fitzroy if you want to donation small items like clothing or brick and bract items. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
