In 2017, free HPV immunisations were extended to boys for the first time, with about two thirds of parents choosing to immunise their children through their school immunisation programme.

HPV-related cancers take a long time to develop. The viruses are mostly transmitted in adolescence but often aren’t diagnosed until later. That’s why it’s important for children to be immunised when they’re young.

Around 80% of people will be exposed to HPV in their lifetime. Immunisation can significantly reduce HPV-related harm. Protecting all children before they’re exposed to HPV will protect their health in the future.

Free HPV immunisation at school or from your GP. For more info visit: www.health.govt.nz/hpv

Hi neighbours - this post is for all the mums out there.

We're running a free Parenting Course that starts next week so I wanted to spread the word.

If you want to give your baby the best start in life - but you really don't know how to do this parenting thing, this course might be the help you need.

Is it for you? Well, I sure hope so. Let's see...
* Are you a mum with a little terror who's under 5?
* You want to do the best for your little one?
* You're not sure how to be a great parent?
* You're unsure how you'll make ends meet once they go to school?

The course is FREE, and runs for 10 weeks. It's from 10.30 to 2.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The first session is on 28 February at the creche next to All Saints Church at 30A Vanguard St.

*Almost* 100 other mums have done this course. We would love you to be that special number 100!

Does your loved one ride a motorcycle?

The Team from ACC New Zealand

Riding a motorcycle or scooter inevitably carries more risk than driving a four-wheeled vehicle. And it turns out quite a lot of us have someone close to us who rides (in fact, 48% of Neighbourly members!)

Riding a motorcycle or scooter inevitably carries more risk than driving a four-wheeled vehicle. And it turns out quite a lot of us have someone close to us who rides (in fact, 48% of Neighbourly members!)

If you worry about their safety, there is something you can do: encourage them to take Ride Forever coaching, provided (and heavily subsidised) by ACC. It's delivered by experts and it works, as Simon Gotlieb's story shows. Neighbourly members can book a FREE Ride Forever course before 31 March using promo code NEIGH18 over here.
