“If I hear music, I just want to dance – body seems to just move!” says dancer Audrey, 84. Poet Brian, 86, says “Poetry helps me to question and understand the meaning of life”, followed by a witty “– haven’t worked out what it means yet”.
As their residents blaze their own trails, Ryman matches that pioneering spirit. “Ryman villages offer living choices to suit everyone so that you can live the way you want.”

Can anyone help either a free one or reasonable price please? I feel so fortunate so far what people have provided, a 42 inch tv for our facility, a rowing machine, reception desk.
It is most appreciated with the community getting behind us :)
Give me a message 0278573045 if able to help us :)

We want to talk to people who have completed micro-credentials, bitesize qualifications for specific skills.
Perhaps you've pieced together a full qualification by doing online courses, or maybe you've taken a workshop rather than investing in a six-month course. We'd love to hear from you - email josephine.franks@stuff.co.nz

Help us reduce waste and have fun doing it with our little tutorial on how to turn a T-shirt into a re-usable bag.
You’ll need:• Old t-shirt – The thicker the fabric, the sturdier the bag• Sharp scissors, preferably fabric scissors
• Washable marker (optional)
Step 1: Cut the sleeves off so it resembles a singlet.
Step 2: Cut the neckline area into a circle or oval – these will become our handles. Trace a bowl to get a perfectly round circle.
Step 3: Turn the t-shirt inside out. Determine where you want the bottom of the bag to be and trace a line across. Keep in mind that depending on the fabric used, your tote is likely stretch and become longer when it’s filled with stuff.
Step 4: Cut slits from the bottom of the shirt up to the line marking the bottom of your bag. Keep the slits small to prevent large gaps in the bottom of the bag. You’ll want to cut both the front and back layers together because they need to match up for the next step.
Step 5: Tie the front and back fringe together in knots and turn the shirt right side out. For extra embellishments, tie the straps (handles) in knots, or tie bits of t-shirt scrap to the top.
P.S. We'd love to see your creations!!

Along with my team of passionate teachers, I run FOCUS Learning Centre on Carlyle Street. We’ve been operating for 5 years now; previously as Kip McGrath, now as FLC. We work with children to maximise their academic success. Many of the younger students we see are not achieving as well as they should be at school. There can be lots of reasons for this, but the ones we see most often are the growing dependence on IT devices, and insufficient work on basic skills; language and maths. This is borne out by a growing body of research. While computers do have a place for practice, they generally make very poor teachers; it is the personal teacher/student relationships that get results. So called “old fashioned” skills, like writing; letter formation and written language skills, spelling, along with basic maths facts are still as valid today as ever, and in fact, science tells us they are critical in the cognitive development of our children. Sadly, these are the skills we regularly see missing in students. These gaps in their learning mean students are unable to keep up, which leads to a loss of confidence, and a downward spiral. We see some remarkable turn-arounds in children in both confidence and achievement when we can fill in these gaps.
Call me to discuss how we might help your children.

Thank you to the four women who came to my aid when I fell in Guppy Rd on Monday. I did eventually end up in hospital that afternoon but fortunately only physical injuries and heart ok. Would like to catch up with you for a coffee if you can get in touch with me.Ph 8440655 Ron

This spinning wheel was last used way back in 1973
With a few adjustments & a bit of TLC this little beauty could be perfectly functional.
Even as it is it is a lovely lounge ornament - endlessly entertaining for the little grandchildren.
