If you have a few minutes a week to support a Local Business, please do so. You can do any of the things on this docket or anything else you like to do to encourage interaction going in their direction.
Would love for people to post some recommendations of local companies or people who are in business on this post.

Thanks to all those who support others.
PS: Remember if you see a post on a Facebook business page and you want to give it some organic advertising, simply clicking on the heart or face emoji helps hugely. The thumbs-up is nice but gives no organic points for google to use to put that business front and centre when people are searching.
Happy Nearly Weekend Everyone!

A pop-up clinic in Hawke’s Bay will encourage Māori and Pasifika whānau to get a flu immunisation, with the option of a Covid-19 test.

The clinic will be located at King’s Church in Meeanee on Saturday, 29 August, from 10am to 2pm.

Updates will be posted on Hawke’s Bay DHB’s Facebook page if wait times are longer than expected or supplies run out sooner than anticipated.

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board medical officer of health Dr Nick Jones, said the DHB had arranged the pop-up clinic to remove barriers to immunisation for Māori and Pasifika communities.

“In line with the push underway nationally to increase immunisation uptake among Māori and Pasifika communities, we are really encouraging whānau to come along, get a flu shot and at the same time take the opportunity to be swabbed for Covid-19 because we know these communities have been the most affected by Auckland’s outbreak,” Jones said.

Meanwhile, free Covid-19 testing centres remain open throughout the region, operating in Napier, Hastings, Wairoa and Central Hawke’s Bay.

“We strongly encourage people displaying cold or flu symptoms to call one of the testing centres below, or their GP, to be triaged for testing, which is free,” Dr Jones said.

* Napier: 06 650 4000 open 9am-5pm Mon-Sun.
* Hastings: 06 281 2644 open 8am-8pm Mon-Sun.
* Wairoa: 06 838 8333 open 8.30am-5pm Mon-Fri.
*Central Hawke’s Bay residents need to be referred by their doctor or phone

She has no popular mandate. It will be interesting to see if she is also a copy cat of other DHB's that promote a race based advantage for Maori and Pacifica in not being subjected to qualifying by any standard for elective surgery. Seemingly elective surgery available on demand ahead of others on account of race. Perhaps this quote gives us a clue.

"It's never a comfortable space ... it's always a balance, and at times there will be parts of the community who will experience less service than they have, and there'll be parts of the community who will experience more."
"Then again. Improving the health outcomes for Māori and Pasifika communities, which make up more than 50 percent of the region's population; better access to mental health and addiction services and reduced waiting times for elective surgeries were among her her top priorities, Brooking said."
Curious assertion I never thought that Maori and Pacifica made up more than 50%of HB's population but hey who would doubt the word of a political appointee to head a DHB.
