PICKLEBALL is the fastest growing sport in the World.....So what is this game with the funny name?? Its a paddle sport created for a wide range of ages, athletic abilities and fitness levels.. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, ideally suited to seniors who want some fun exercise and social interaction or teenagers who are not really "sporty" For those who are ex Tennis, Squash or Badminton players, Pickleball is easier on your body but can still develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game. Pickleball has many health benefits as well, such as increased mood and overall mental health, you burn calories, and fewer injuries occur due to the low-impact nature of the game. Pickleball specifically works on balance and agility, while offering the same benefits of other regular exercise such as reducing your risk of heart attack and chronic disease, toning your muscles and increasing your energy. “The best thing about Pickleball is that it provides socialization and activity at the same time.
The Basics
A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
Played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
Played as doubles, singles and even triples.
Check out our FB page "PIckleball Hawkes Bay" or watch this short (10min) video below which shows the benefits of Pickleball for any age.

Be aware, police have identified a new telephone scam targeting New Zealanders. If you receive an angry call from someone seeking compensation for car damages, hang up. To read more, click here.
What you need to know:
- The call will be from an international number that's then redirected through a local number.
- The aggressive scammer could be very convincing.
- Upon answering, they demand money for damages from a vehicle collision they claim you were involved in.
- Police are urging people to warn elderly relatives so they do not fall victim to the scam and lose money.
- If you receive a call of this nature, police advise you to hang up immediately.

Epson Stylus CX5900 - still scans very well. Would probably still print too although I haven't used it as a printer for a long time (expensive cartridges).

Hopefully most are aware of this, however having spoken to HBRC today thought it might catch some who are unaware.
The document has not been delivered to hundreds of homes and consequently the submission date has been extended to 22 November. A phone cal to HBRC will get you a copy sent by mail.

Submit people and halt the sale of any part of the Port as there are ways to fund the Port's requirements without selling off a huge part of it. The submission document is totally skewed to selling 49% and has a taste of shambles surrounding the dam proposal.
