Free Over 60 Womens Personal Safety & Empowerment Courses
We will be hosting FREE personal safety and empowerment courses facilitated by Kia Haumaru – Personal Safety Education, a nationwide network of accredited personal safety education kaiako.
These workshops are for Women over 60 and will cover:
-healthy relationships
-early warning signs of interpersonal violence
-self-care
-positive assertiveness and boundary-setting skills
-verbal strategies include to stop a harmful situation before it becomes physical
-emphasis is placed on trusting your instincts, knowing your rights, and using your voice
The physical safety techniques are simple, easy to learn and highly effective against a bigger, stronger attacker. They are adapted to suit all abilities, ages, and fitness levels.
Trigger warning - the course will talk about abusive relationships and gender-based violence.

2 May – Camberley Community Centre
24 May – Clive Community Hall
All courses are from 10am-2pm and include lunch.

Strength & Balance Falls Prevention FREE Classes
New Year = FREE Steady As You GO strength and balance exercise programme designed to improve your leg strength, flexibility, general fitness, and wellbeing to prevent falls and injuries. Attending one of these classes is also a great way to meet new people.
