Once upon a time, the pint-sized pixies were the must-see Christmas attractions at DIC department stores across New Zealand, before they closed in the early 1990s.
Part of the Dunedin set was added to the collection of Toitū Otago Settlers Museum and remains a popular annual Christmas attraction, curator Peter Read says.
