Dunedin weird crime files
Reports of 'strange activity' prompted a call-out in Dunedin, police say.
Concerned members of the public contacted police after seeing a man being "bundled into a car", Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said.
The incident unfolded in the Canongate area over the weekend, but officers could not get to the bottom of the 'strange activity'.
"No-one is talking to us."
While some said it wasn't as bad as it looked, they declined to comment on the nature of the incident, Dinnissen said.
It was possible the incident was a prank, he said.
Meanwhile a 15-year-old boy was locked up for three burglaries over the weekend.
The teen allegedly burgled a North Rd property, and was later spotted at an address on Gt King St before jumping over a fence.
A police dog located the youth, who "due to his aggressiveness received a dog-bite".
He received medical attention, and was taken into custody.
