Toddler's floating trike rescued by wildlife cruise crew in Otago Harbour
Tommy, 3, could only watch in horror as his beloved Tri-ang trike rolled down a ramp and into Otago Harbour on Monday afternoon.
Before his mother could get a stick to fish it out, it was gone.
Mum Angela Cuming says she was gobsmacked when she was alerted to a post by the Monarch Wildlife Cruises on Friday afternoon, asking if anyone was missing a tricycle.
"We are anxious to get it back so they can burn off some extra energy."
The trike's recovery showed what a special community they lived in, she said. The family had moved down from the North Island this year.
