Good news - A horse rider injured on a Dunedin beach this week is now 'on the mend'
David Hiom was taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries, after falling from his horse on Ocean View Beach at 1.30pm on Tuesday.
"It was a freak accident and neither myself, or my horse were at fault. Thankfully I am on the mend," he says.
The passers-by and emergency services who helped him were a "godsend" he says. "I can't thank them enough."
