Often the way around this is to use fruit in fresh or dried form. This recipe from Yvonne Gloor, one of our instore Nutritionists, is a great idea for everyone's favourite - Chocolate Brownie!
1 1/3 cups dates
2 ripe bananas
4 tblsp cocoa
1 tblsp cinnamon
1 cup cooked black beans
1 cup walnuts pieces
1 cup dessicated coconut
Preheat oven 10 190C.
Chop dates and put in food processor with bananas. Process until creamy. Add cocoa, cinnamon, black beans, walnuts & coconut. Process again until mixture holds together.
Put into a rectangular tin with a removable base and bake for about 30 minutes. Cool on a rack for an hour.
