Summer Pools Open! π
Todayβs the day! McKenzie Baths and Wainuiomata Summer Pool are open for the summer season π
It should come as no surprise we have additional health and safety measures in place in the face of COVID-19 and to reflect Alert Level 2 requirements.
Here are some golden rules for you to follow if you plan to make a trip to take a dip:
β
Scan in using the NZ COVID tracer app
β
Keep a two metre distance from others (who are not in your bubble)
β Please stay home if youβre feeling unwell β and if you have cold or flu symptoms please get tested!
Our team will be closely monitoring visitor numbers to enforce limits (these vary depending on the size of the facility, but essentially mean we are operating at half-capacity).
Thank you in advance for following the above guidance β it helps us keep everyone safe, and our facilities open for our community to enjoy.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Public Transport fares face 70% increase..
Wellington region users says increases to public transport fares of more than 70 percent would be "ludicrous", and would lead to them working from home more often, or taking the car rather than the bus.
