You are invited - Lower Hutt Events Centre opening
Here's a photo from the 1957 opening of the Town Hall. Be part of history and come along to the opening of the refurbished Town Hall and new Lower Hutt Events Centre in Laings Road on Saturday 14 July.
Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace will officially open the facility at 10.15am. Local performers and groups will take to the stage of the new Events Centre from 10.45am until 2pm. See you there!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
