I've not used a lathe so can't say much about it, but it has a belt drive from the motor and multiple gearing. It's from the 1980s, and hasn't been used in about 15 years, but it seems to be running OK.
Price: $650

I want to cut a channel into a brick wall using an angle grinder.
The channel isn't deep / long, but there will be a lot of dust - which will pretty much destroy any vacuum cleaner I use to suck it up.

I've asked this here once before, but if anybody has an old, nearly dead, but still working vacuum cleaner they'd be happy to part with, please let me know.
My alternative is to buy a new $40+ vacuum cleaner from the warehouse and then throw it away after using it.
I'd rather not do that. It'd be a shame to put that amount of plastics and electronics in the tip after only one use. Better to use something already pretty much at the end of its life.

The saw can be mounted above or inverted below the bench (saw guards supplied) and there are lots of YouTube instructional videos available, including the original 1984 3hr very methodical video. This one has done a lot of work and has a little surface paint flake but is generally in good condition. The saw is a 235mm Makita N5900B in nearly new condition - has only done a few light kerfing cuts, worth $380-420 new.

We want to know how many Neighbourly members who are over 65 have had a fall or fear falling?
We value our older people and want them to stay well and independent. We want them to Live Stronger for Longer. We’ll share more about why we’re asking next week.
