STORM UPDATE: 10am 14 July 2017 (Expected final update)

Callum from Hutt City Council

While there is still some rain forecast throughout the day, we’re through the worst of it. River and stream levels are receding but still high and fast-moving, so please stay away from waterways until they return to normal levels.

Block Road and the Riverbank Carpark are OPEN.

Fraser Park remains closed while damage to the grandstand roof is worked on.

There is still some surface flooding and likely debris, so please take care on the roads.

Harbour ferries have been cancelled until the afternoon, with an update expected at 1.30pm. Please check www.metlink.org.nz... for more info.

Power is still out for some in Normandale, Wellington Electricity expects to restore power in the next couple of hours.

If you notice storm-related issues please call us on 04 570 6666
