Sewage discharge Waiwhetu Stream
Due to extreme rainfall over the weekend, untreated sewage from the Hinemoa Street and Malone Road sewage pumping stations overflowed into the Waiwhetu Stream in the vicinity of Hinemoa Street.
While the discharges were for a short time, we advise people to stay away from the stream, particularly near the Hinemoa Street and Malone Road areas and immediately downstream.
Warning signs have been put up advising against swimming or collecting food from the affected areas.
