School of Self-Defence kicking off 7 July
Hi everyone,
We're finally able to kick off the community self-defence school now we're out of lockdown. We'll kick off informally on Tues 7 July during the school holidays here in Pinehaven.
Ages 12 and up, all stages and levels of fitness, confidence, experience welcome! The club focuses on self-defence using a Wing Chun base (Chinese boxing) and incorporating elements of Kickboxing and Filipino short sticks. A warm, challenging, but encouraging environment where the aim is not to teach people how to fight but rather teach people how not to need to fight. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
