Louisa Dummer and I have both been brewing Kombucha as a hobby for a while now, and we have decided with the amount that we brew and the hours of love and creativity we put into our brews, that we want to offer our Kombucha to the local community.
We both started drinking Kombucha for the amazing health benefits, too many to name, but the main benefit is that Kombucha is teeming with beneficial probiotics, digestive enzymes and vitamins. We truly believe our home-made Kombucha is unlike anything you’ll taste in a commercial bottle. Its the perfect balance of tart and sweet with a gentle bubble on your tongue.
We have a whole lot of Kombucha flavoured and ready for refrigeration. We are into recycling, so these reused 750ml wine bottles are sterilised with boiled water and white distilled vinegar - so no nasty chemicals. As an introductory price to get our Kombucha out there and to receive feedback that we can work from, we are asking a price of $5 per recycled wine bottle. If we have positive feedback on our brews we will look to continue our brews and have a consistent supply in brand new glass bottles.
Current flavours are (will post when new flavours are available)
1. Peach
2. Raspberry and Manuka Honey
3. Blueberry and Lavender
4. Cranberry and Mint
If you are interested please message one of us and we can work out an order/delivery/pickup.
We hope you love our Kombucha as much as we do, and if you don’t we will gladly take feedback to improve our brews!!
Thank you!
Price: $5

Last night (Sunday) at around 11.50pm heard four distinct "bangs" in methodically quick succession. The "bangs" sounded very much like a gun being fired. and came from maybe Freeman's Way/Blue Mountains Road/ Pinehaven Road.
Didn't hear any sound of a vehicle.

Even if you have the right of way be aware that pedestrians, cyclists or other drivers may make a mistake and a slower speed can be the difference between a minor, serious or even fatal outcome.
So slow down, look carefully for pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles approaching, and be ready to give way.

Set in a women's prison, Bad Girls is a powerful, uplifting and raucously entertaining musical, based on the award-winning and hugely popular British television drama.
It stars several Hutt Valley actors/singers and is directed by Lower Hutt local Lindsey Rusling.
The musical introduces us to an bunch of women on the edge and up against the odds - prostitutes, addicts, shoplifters, murderers - each with a story to tell of lives left behind and dreams of a better future ahead, and an entrenched old guard of prison officers out to dash their every hope.
Full of big songs and characters, Bad Girls is an exhilarating mix of gritty reality, rebellious spirit, and irreverent humour that touches hearts and kicks up a riot.
To enter the draw for two tickets to the Thursday, September 13 performance - email editor@huttnews.co.nz with "Bad Girls: The Musical" in the subject line.
Entries close 5pm Thursday, September 6.
