Ship 'Tory' bringing the NZ Company from UK to Petone/Britannia in 1839.
2 Old Whalers/sailors one the employer Captain John JACKY Guard guided Tory, the other his employee Captain James Worser Heberley held the wheel of the Tory through the Wellington Heads from Picton area.
Guard and Heberley have family 2020 in the Hutt.

Very few white people lived in the area, many were old Whalers.
Waiwhetu Pa was by the mouth of the Hutt and Waiwhetu Rivers and boats were able to navigate up them both.
A flock mill was on Waiwhetu stream about Fairfield area.
Does anyone know about this and the Porutu family?
