Heritage Festival at Thames Museum

Carolyn from Thames

Thames Heritage Festival kicks off at Thames Museum this Friday, 12th March with 2 key events. The children of Thames South School Te Kura Tuatahi o te Kauaeranga have included the museum in their Heritage exploration this year. In the morning they will play traditional Māori games on the museum’s lawn from 10am, followed by waiata at midday. The museum will provide other old-time games so come along and join in this free fun day.
Inside the museum, Goldfields Women’s Institute has prepared a display to celebrate 100 years of WI around the country and as well, the museum has set up some small displays featuring Thamesites of bygone days. We will also be celebrating 100 years of the School Dental Service in NZ
Further events will take place throughout the festival on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th.
We're looking forward to welcoming you.
