Come and enjoy Historic Kōpū Bridge
Historic Kōpū Bridge will be open every day from 10am to 3pm until 13th March as over 700 riders in the Tour Aotearoa 2020 Cycling Challenge pass through on their 3,000km journey from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Cyclists and walkers, whether locals or visitors from around the country and overseas are making the most of this opportunity to spend some time on the old bridge, take photos, watch the birds and ‘remember when…’ this was the main road to and from Turua, Ngatea, the Plains and Auckland. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
