Poll: Celebrating 125 years of women's vote
Kia Ora neighbours,
Franklin will soon be celebrating the passing of the Parliamentary Act on September 19, 1893 that allowed women to vote.
Business and Professional Women Franklin have organised a day of celebrations this Saturday September 15.
The 125-year celebration will start with a parade in Pukekohe, followed by a ticketed high tea event and a free art expo at Franklin: The Centre.
Will you be attending the parade or any of the other events?
Who are some of the awesome Franklin women you will be celebrating and recognising?
What other ways will you be acknowledging the change in history?

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
